This one day course is designed to provide you with a toolbox of techniques and structures that you will instantly be able to apply to your work. You will be guided through the functions, formulas and techniques in the realms of Excel, Python in Excel and in Power BI: collectively a combination fit for any serious financial modeller.
The topics chosen for today’s course reflect not only the kind of work that you do but also the rapid pace at which Excel, Python and Power BI are developing.
The day is divided into four discrete sessions, each with its own objectives and outcomes. As far as possible, all examples, cases and models will be developed using data from the real world, including data taken live from the web during the presentations. In that way, you will be able to appreciate the vagaries of raw and real data that are often missing from textbook and simulated data.
The course is aimed at anyone, whether they work in finance, accounting, marketing, sales, production services, procurement or HR … in fact, from anywhere in the organisation for which the preparation or development of some or all of a financial model is important.
A deep and detailed knowledge of finance and accounting is not necessary for this course and in the same light, while you will face mathematical and statistical examples during the course, no deep and detailed knowledge of the subjects is required.

You will also be taken through case studies on interpretations of recent decisions of judges and the impact of these decisions on contract law and its practice.
